World record attempt in basketball

Cork Ladies Basketball Board is attempting to make a new world record for the largest game of basketball knockout. The attempt will be taking place on Saturday 29 of December in Neptune Stadium and is in association with Cork Penny Dinners. The present Guinness World Record is held by the VEISHA youth group in America with 571 participants.Speaking about the event George Meade, Cork Ladies Basketball Chairman said: “We are looking forward to trying to break the current record and while doing so we will also be raising some much needed funds for Cork Penny Dinners."There is a   Christmas break in the busy playing calendar for Cork basketball so this is an ideal time to get as many of the basketball community, along with their friends and family, together for a great cause and a bit of fun. The Cork Ladies Basketball Board has already applied to the Guinness Book of Records and should have authorization for an official Guinness Record attempt before Christmas. All are welcome to partcipate.
