Reg d hunter promises crackin show

Thursday, 4th April, 2013 1:00am

It takes a particular kind of man to tour a show called 'In the Midst of Crackers' through a country as white as Ireland. Reginald D Hunter has a history of controversial show names, often using the word nigga in his titles, such as his 2006 tour 'Pride and Prejudice… and Niggas'.

This time he turns his attention on the honkys. He brings his tour to Portlaoise, Birr, Galway, Limerick, Clonmel, Waterford, Ardee in Co. Louth, Letterkenny, Athlone, Tullamore, Wexford, Kilkenny and Dublin. Which should be interesting.

He comes to Cork Opera House this Sunday but with his charm, he shouldn't rile anyone too much.

The Georgia-born American has been living in the UK for many years now, giving him a unique perspective. Arriving as a classically trained actor, he quickly found his way as a comic. He has been a consistent presence in British television with regular appearances on 'Have I Got News For You', 'Live at the Apollo', 'It's Only A Theory', '8 Out of 10 Cats' and he has also appeared on the BBC Radio 4 comedy show 'The Unbelievable Truth'.

Reginald D Hunter plays Cork Opera House on Sunday 7 April at 8pm. Tickets are €26, €27.50 and €29. Booking fee may apply
