Via Consulting is Ireland's newest business and IT consulting firm providing comprehensive, cost-saving solutions for all types of organisations. The people behind the venture say the company differs from the majority of consultancy firms in that it brings together a small, multi-disciplined team of experts, including principal consultant Joe Hussey, who understand and can face the challenges encountered by businesses. Currently Via is made up of a team of six highly experienced IT and business people, including a hi-tech financial systems developer, a data specialist, a project manager, a general IT and business manager, a chartered accountant and non-executive director, and principal consultant, Joe Hussey, who served on the board of Fiat subsidiary CNH Capital from 2001 to 2004 as European IT Director. Hussey says of Via, "We're focusing on bringing a high level of IT management and all-round experience to companies which may have little or limited IT experience on hand. We seek to minimise the cost to the client by identifying quick wins, better use of existing technology, industry benchmark and technology directions". According to Hussey, the approach of Via is one of freeing-up organisations, allowing them to focus on their core business, while using one of Via's business and IT consultants. He maintains that it is akin to having in-house specialist expertise without the drawback of the high costs. One of Via's current clients, Leading Edge, which provides online Lean Practitioner courses to a global client base, engaged Via to review their existing solutions. Joe Aherne, MD, Leading Edge says, "Our organisation had a need to reduce the administration overhead with our existing eLearning IT solutions and replace the solution with an integrated, better automated single solution. Via designed a comprehensive set of requirements, shortlisted vendors and together we chose a supplier who ticked all the boxes for us and we saved costs and administration overheads in the process". |
