One man who knows all about how best to keep the cost of weddings down without having to sacrifice on quality is Alan Ross of Weddings by Shamrock.

Best known for his work with wedding band the Laughing Shamrocks, Alan first became more and more aware of the cost of weddings when he began planning his own big day in 2006.

As he and his wife Shirley began organising their own wedding , Alan was truly shocked by the overall cost of his big day so decided to use his own contacts to organise his wedding. "I have always had a lot of contacts in the wedding industry because of my work with the Laughing Shamrocks and it made sense to use these contacts to organise our own wedding and allow Shirley to take a back seat," he explained.

Alan's plan paid off and at the end of their wedding he and has wife had found that they had saved a significant amount of money by utilising the contacts they had made through the years. Soon Alan found that he was inundated with calls from friends, family and acquaintances looking for advice on how to cut costs on their weddings and find out which venues offered the best value for money. Alan was quick to hand out advice and thought to himself that many more people could benefit from his knowledge and so Weddings By Shamrock was born.
