Elaine Ryan of Elaine Ryan & Associates is a business coach and human resources consultant operating mainly in the Munster region. With many businesses now facing their most challenging period for some time Elaine says that now, more than ever it is important to look at what they want to achieve in the future.

“Goal setting is very important,” Elaine says. “This might entail considering what training they need, or assessing whether they required mentoring or contract updates.”

Elaine explains that it is important for companies to be proactive, “For example, employers must ensure that there is an anti-bullying culture in their company. If bullying does occur, they must be prepared to deal with it following the proper/correct procedure.”

“I offer a free consultation and carry out a ‘Human Resources health-check’,” Elaine says, adding that her services are delivered on-site, at a practical level, and draw from over two decade’s experience of work, across the world, in recruitment, industry and human resources.

A Limerick native, Elaine Ryan points out that some of the issues affecting business in general in the current climate include recruitment and selection of staff for major multinationals and raising awareness of disciplinary procedures which adhere to anti-bullying and anti-harassment regulations.

And one of the major strengths of her business is that Elaine is available outside office hours, and offers one-to-one support, to employees and management, in a variety of settings.

“I do a lot of work with small to medium size businesses, and sometimes the owner/manager doesn’t have the time to talk in the environment. They can call me after business hours, whether they want to know about legislation or how to handle a certain situation. Being a coach means being there for staff and management.”

Elaine says she offers a wide range of essential and easy-to-learn techniques for businesses, which can help to deal with a range of issues that may be affecting the company, or an individual in that company.

“I offer solutions to problems, human resources solutions and operations solutions. I work out a timeframe and get to know the staff. Teamwork is vital. I think businesses will find that putting strategies and systems in place from day one will help in the long term,” she says.
