It is his unique focus on personal customer service and his wealth of experience in the business which Fintan Mulvihill credits to the success Mulvihill Fireplaces.  

Opened just over eight months, Mulvihill Fireplaces offers customers a variety of new and antique fireplaces and stoves all available under one roof  and since its establishment it has proved very popular among people across the city and county.

Fintan, who is no stranger to the fireplace business, opened the business last year in a bid to continue a family tradition in providing people with a huge choice of quality fireplaces with a service that in today’s modern world is hard to match.

His father had before him owned and run his own fireplace business in Cork and was known throughout the city and county for his huge selection in fireplaces and in particular his talent in restoring antique fireplaces back to their natural beauty.

Fintan’s own introduction to the business came about in his teens when he began working with his father. In the early days, Fintan helped out the fitters when installing the fireplaces and later worked in the showroom and in sales. Even then Fintan knew that eventually he wanted to follow in his father’s footsteps and make a long-term career for himself in the fireplace industry.

After spending some time abroad, Fintan took up a position managing a fireplace shop in the city and it was during his time here that he came to realise what he wanted to do with his future.

Today, his showroom complete with a vast selection of modern and classic fireplaces in timber, marble, granite, slate and limestone, stands adjacent to his father’s premises where he restores and reproduces fireplaces. Fintan’s two brothers are also onsite to help Fintan whenever needed.

When asked what it is like to work so closely with his family, Fintan is quick to point out the advantages of working with his father and brothers, “It really is great to be working with your family, you know you can always rely on them,” he says.
