A significant part of this task includes encouraging developers to use Irish language names for their estates and buildings, making the language an everyday occurrence for people living and working in these areas. Padraig estimates that today more than 230 developers across the country are using Irish names for their developments, something he is very proud of.
Gael-Taca also provide a media service to stations throughout the country and Padraig has often been interviewed on radio on Irish language issues as well as providing clarification on and explanation of queries relating to the Irish language and translations. Padraig firmly believes that people’s interest in the Irish language is again flourishing and that more and more people are looking back to their roots and in turn to exploring the language further, and the challenge for Padraig is to ensure that Gael-Taca can answer this call, ensuring as many of these people can gain access to the language and in turn revive what was once this country’s mother tongue. Although Gael-Taca has a limited budget, Padraig is confident that Gael-Taca can achieve just this and he looks forward with anticipation to the new challenges which lie ahead .
