Turning a passion into a profession is something everyone dreams of. All too often however, reality provides a hefty kick to common sense, and the realisation that personal pet projects and passion do not always make comfortable bed-fellows with financial viability dawns.

Denis Ryan, a company director with Wilton based IT company Stream Solutions, finds himself in a very fortunate position with regards to the scenario above. Now in its fourth year of operation, Stream Solution continues to grow and expand its already considerable reach in the IT sector, offering, if you will, a one-stop shop for businesses and their various IT demands.

With the continued success and increasing demands for Stream Solutions services, Denis has been afforded the opportunity to indulge in a long-time passion of his. “I’ve always had a passion for film,” Denis says. “I used to edit wedding videos, almost as a hobby, for family and friends in my spare time. Although it was mostly a hobby, it helped me financially to build my home editing suite. One of my main aspirations is to actually produce and direct a short film. I’m working on something at the moment and hoping it will all come together, but its early days yet.”

Denis’s has manifested his passion for film through a keen business sense, finding an ideal balance. “Myself and Gerard Allen (fellow company director) are very into the audio and visual side of things and I’m very fortunate to be able to express my own skills and passion through my profession.

It’s just the latest string to Stream Solutions bow, with Denis also saying that the company has begun expanding with solutions for photography. His love with the product has grown, along with the product itself which now stands as one of the most powerful brand-names in the world today. “We knew the market very well and knew that the one stop shop approach was a good idea. We’re constantly updating and learning every year to keep abreast of emerging technologies.”
