Throughout it all, Sandra has been helping to guide the people of Cork through the financial quagmires and minefields, gaining substantial experience while working at Permanent tsb. "Having left school, my father thought is would be a good idea to work in the bank, so I said I would try it for a few months. I was still there up to last year. I worked in Permanent tsb in many branches over the years, including Lapps Quay, North Main Street (I was there the day this opened), Cobh, Clonmel, Bishopstown and Douglas."

Then, in 2006, Sandra decided to go it alone. The decision represented a huge risk, but, with her considerable experience and dedication to offering the best service possible to her customers, she decided to follow her dream of owning her own business. "I have worked in financial services for more than 25 years, gaining a wealth of specialised skills and expertise. This experience allowed me to pinpoint a clear need for a more personal and higher quality financial service. But I knew that going out on my own was a huge risk. I did a business coaching diploma however, and it gave me the confidence to go out and do it. So I left my pensionable, secure job in June 2006 to fulfil my burning passion to have a business of my own, which would have a personal and high quality financial service."

Sandra now runs Inspire Financial. Her son David also works in the business part-time while still going to College. When she does find a moment to herself she says she likes to indulge in some R&R, Retail Therapy, travelling anywhere, but, by her own admission she's not had much time for this of late.
