This year's Cork Chamber Business Conference, in association with the Irish Institute of Bankers (Cork Region), is to be titled 'Cork's Renaissance - A Vision for the Future'.

The conference is expected to outline business opportunities as well as the strategic perspective required to underpin Cork's future development.

Speaking at the launch of the Conference details, Conor Healy, Chief Executive, Cork Chamber said, "In recent years Cork has developed to the point where significant potential and advancement can be achieved. However, recent changes in the national and international economic environment have made realising these opportunities more challenging. In such times developing a Vision for the Future becomes ever more important. On 23 October at Rochestown Park Hotel, we will be addressing the strategies and vision required to build on the business opportunities that exist in the region.

"This half-day Conference, to be chaired by John Walsh, Editor of Business & Finance magazine, is aimed at individuals with an interest in the development of the region including indigenous manufacturing and services companies, property developers, third level institutions, state agencies, multinationals, tourism and hospitality interests, media organisations, local authorities as well as senior executives and owner managers of Cork businesses. We urge those involved in these sectors to attend and contribute to the debate on developing a Vision for the Future. With this in mind we have put together an expert range of speakers for this Conference including a panel discussion with the closing address by Minister for Foreign Affairs, Micheál Martin, TD," he concluded.
