| Cork leisure companies waving the white flags |

The ‘Quality seal of approval’ has been presented to seven leisure facilities in Cork County and five in Cork City at the prestigious White Flag Awards 2007/08.
The awards were presented by the Minister of State Tony Killeen TD at the 2007 ILAM Annual Conference & Exhibition in The Knightsbrook Hotel, Trim, Co Meath this week.
The big winners in Cork County were Actons Health & Fitness Club, Carrigaline Court Leisure Centre, Castle Hotel Health & Leisure Centre, Celtic Ross Leisure Club, Midleton Park Health & Leisure Centre, and Trabolgan Holiday Village and The Glen Resource & Sports Centre. The award, developed by ILAM is the only comprehensive Quality Award for Leisure Facilities in Ireland. The White Flag recognises standards of excellence in health and leisure facilities and is aimed at sports halls, fitness studios, health suites, spas, gyms, swimming pools.
The White Flag awards in its 7th year scheme, has established itself as the quality mark that all leisure facilities must strive to achieve and is endorsed by Fáilte Ireland and the Irish Hotels Federation (IHF). It is also a mandatory requirement for Health Spas seeking funding from Fáilte Ireland.
