Employees in the Cook Street Specsavers recently receive the prestigious FÁS Excellence Through People Gold Standard Award. Winning the Gold standard sets Specsavers apart as the only optician in the country to have achieved this level of the award. The FÁS Excellence Through People Award is a national standard for human resource management, and attainment of the gold level is a true endorsement that the company is superior in its people management practices. Specsavers store director, Sean McLoughlin, says, "We are delighted to be officially recognised as Ireland's first optician to secure the prestigious GOLD standard of the Excellence Through People Award. On behalf of the management team in our store, I would like to thank and acknowledge the skill and wholehearted commitment of all our employees, and their continued dedication to achieving the highest standards at all times". While other quality accreditations consider processes and systems, Excellence Through People is the only Irish national standard uniquely dedicated to people. Commenting on the award, Regional Director South West Donal Kerr said, "We were very impressed with the store's approach to Human Resource Management (HRM), so much so, that Specsavers in Cook Street, Cork are awarded the Gold Level accreditation. Specsavers in Cook Street is the first optician in the country to achieve this level of excellence. "The Assessment Report on Specsavers noted that Specsavers in Cork values their employees highly and, actively seek to encourage and motivate them to develop and achieve personal goals. The report commented that one of the strengths of the company is its approach to teamwork and the commitment to superior customer service". |
