JCI Ireland’s (Junior Chamber) National Convention will take place in the Sheraton Fota Island Golf Resort and Spa tomorrow, Friday, October 12 until Sunday, October 14.

The event coincides with the 50th Anniversary of JCI Ireland and is expected to attract up to 250 delegates from countries such as Belgium, England, Scotland, USA, Finland, Denmark, Syria and Ireland.

Mayor Paddy Whitty will begin the celebrations with a civic reception in Cobh Town Hall at lunchtime on Friday, October 12 followed by a ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ themed welcome party at the hotel that evening.

Cobh resident and former JCI World President, Kevin Cullinane said, “We’re delighted to be welcoming delegates to East Cork for the convention. JCI Ireland was founded in Cork so it is fitting that we are celebrating our 50th anniversary here”.

JCI Ireland’s National Convention 2007 will be an action packed weekend of learning, networking, forward planning and entertainment. For more information visit www.jci-ireland.org/convention.
