FBD Insurance have officially launched its interactive next generation website aimed at ‘putting customers in the driving seat’ when it comes to purchasing car insurance online.
The new website, www.fbd.ie, is designed using Web 2.0 technologies and hosts a range of innovative features focused on giving customers greater control over their purchase. Commenting on the launch of the new website, Adrian Taheny, Director of Sales and Marketing said, “This significant investment by FBD is recognition by the company for the need to engage with Ireland’s ever increasing online community. This new web service will form the keystone of FBD’s drive for online transactions to represent 25% of new business growth within the next three years”. This growth trajectory is reinforced by extensive customer research conducted by FBD. The research highlights that 75% of car insurance customers now go online for quotes with 48% detailing that they would be prepared to complete the purchase online if the process was made easier. Benefiting from the Web 2.0 infrastructure, FBD is now the first insurance company in Ireland to provide a range of interactive services aimed at improving the online customer experience. In addition to this customers can now contact FBD via SKYPE, the free internet-based telephone system. Customers can also engage directly with FBD staff and watch for regular updates on products and services through the Twitter Chatroom, a popular micro-blogging service enabling users to send and read other user’s updates. Concluding, Taheny emphasised, “This next generation website shows FBD’s commitment to meeting changing customer needs. Our website is focused on making it significantly quicker for customers to get a quote and easier for them to get cover. To kick start our new web service we are offering a special discount to customers who complete their transaction online”. |
