Following on from the successful advertising campaign last Christmas, the Cork Marketing Partnership launched a new summer TV advertising campaign on Monday, May 19 promoting the many events being held in Cork during the summer period, writes David Forsythe.
The TV campaign is complemented with a national radio advertising campaign on Today FM which kicked off on May 12 and continues until June 19. Today FM’s Ray Foley programme also hosted a very successful promotion on his daily lunchtime show throughout the week of May 5. The overall winner of the promotion hailed from County Monaghan and won a luxury weekend in the Imperial Hotel, with dinner and spa treatments and tickets to three (Cork Midsummer Festival of the Senses, Live at the Marquee and Taste of Cork) for five people with Blackrock Castle Observatory hosting the winners to a tour and lunch in the new Castle Bar and Trattoria restaurant. Michael Geary, Chairman of the Cork Marketing Partnership said, “We expect the Cork summer marketing campaign to strongly support business performance in the Cork region this summer. The range of summer festivals across the region is incredible, and the quality of the tourism offer to the visitor makes Cork a truly great summer destination”.
