Zenith Technologies takes top gong at Chamber awards

Last Friday saw four companies walk away with awards from the Cork Company of the Year Awards 2019, with Zenith Technologies picking up a double.

Cork Chamber’s sold-out annual dinner held in Cork City Hall saw Zenith Technologies announced as Cork Company of the Year 2019, while Verifish, O’Flynn Medical and Wisetek also won awards.

The dinner was also a celebration of 200 years of Cork Chamber and was attended by over 1,000 people, including guest of honour President of Ireland, Michael D. Higgins.

Run in association with Vodafone Ireland, the awards involve a thorough four month judging process with an experienced mix of business professionals from across the business community.

Zenith Technologies delivers manufacturing software globally to the life science sector.

Accepting the award on behalf of Zenith Technologies, Executive Chairman and Founder Brendan O’Regan, said: “This award reflects an overnight success twenty years in the making and is a tremendous recognition of the effort and quality of the whole team at Zenith Technologies. As a Cork-founded company, and Irish multinational, it is truly an honour to be considered in the same league as previous winners and to be celebrated in our home city. I’d like to thank all my colleagues for making this happen and I look forward to seizing new opportunities that undoubtedly will arise from receiving this award.”

Bill O’Connell, President of Cork Chamber, noted the extremely high standard of entrants and shortlisted finalists. “Cork Company of the Year Awards provide a wonderful platform for Cork’s most pioneering businesses to celebrate success. It has been a fantastic journey for all of us on the judging panel over the last few months, getting to meet an impressive and diverse mix of companies who are leading the way in innovating, transforming our business landscape, leaving a lasting mark on both Cork and the world.” Verifish, who support sustainability and food safety in seafood were named Cork Emerging Company of the Year 2019.

The other awards went to O’Flynn Medical - Cork SME Company of the Year 2019, who offer the sale, rental, service and decontamination of medical equipment and Wisetek who were named Cork Large Company of the Year 2019. Wisetek are a global service provider of IT recycling, manufacturing and data sanitization services.

Zenith Technologies were also named Cork Corporate of the Year 2019.

Debbie Power, Vodafone Ireland added, “Cork, like the rest of the world is embracing an exciting technological revolution which will be driven by the internet of things, artificial intelligence and data analytics. And it is set to transform this city. The future is exciting for Cork city and county and I am excited to watch the city grow and thrive into the future.”
