Tango Sunday begun this past Sunday (August 10) at the Half Moon Theatre, when the loose limbed Latino's Pablo Rodriguez and Jazmin Chiodi, backed by a three-piece band, set temperatures soaring and hearts racing with their first performance. Running for three more performances into September (August 24, September 7 and 21), Tango Sunday's is hoping to provide an alternative adventure as well as a new challenge for those seeking something different. Renowned the world over for its 'sensuous sophistication', the Tango inhabits a world where everything can be said with the flick of a leg, the tug of a hand, the tap of a foot. Tango Sundays begins with a performance by the live three-piece band and professional tango Nuevo dancers, before everyone is invited onto the dance floor to show off their skills and to learn new ones from the dancers who will circulate among the crowd. Monina Paz along with her partner Niall O'Floinn, will perform on the remaining three Sundays bringing with them twenty two years of combined experience, having both studied under famous Argentine Tango dancers. Monina has performed in some of the most prestigious Tango houses in Argentina and has made appearances across the globe with Tango performances and tango workshops. So, if you love Tango and would like to develop your skills, or if you would like to try it for the first time and have some fun, the best Tango dancers in Ireland will be at the Half Moon each Sunday to show you this sensuous and sophisticated dance. |
