A Winner of Scotsman Fringe First Award 2008 and a critical smash during its festival run, Itsoseng arrives in Cork for it´s Irish premiere. Molusi´s powerful play tells the true story of his hometown, Itsoseng, whose inhabitants are still awaiting regeneration thirteen years after the advent of democracy. Exploring themes rarely seen on the South African stage, this production is a scathing indictment of government indifference, cynicism and incompetence in a forgotten South African township.

This is the forth stage work by the 24 year old Johannesburg based writer and actor. In 2007 Molusi was the first recipient of the Royal Shakespeare Company / Baxter Theatre Bursary – an award set up in the memory of a young South African actor who was brutally murdered in Johannesburg just days before he was due to perform in Janet Suzman´s Hamlet at the RSC´s Swan Theatre. The award enabled Molusi to travel to the UK and receive training with the RSC, an experience which changed his life. This exclusive Irish run takes place at the Everyman Palace Theatre from Tuesday, October 28 until Saturday, November 1.
