A White Christmas indeed

Wednesday, 29th November, 2017 5:28pm

Are you looking for an authentic Christmas market experience in the city? Look no further than The White Horse German-style market!

The White Horse German-style Christmas market aims to capture all that is special about those twinkling, joyous European markets, where one can spend hours wandering through stalls selling the weird and wonderful and breathe in the sweet aromas of the food vans giving a world of choice to even the most casual foodie.

There will be an array of local craft traders present as well as the pub’s own bratwurst stall, and Bakestone vintage caravan selling gluhwein (mulled wine, for the uninitiated), hot chocolate, lebkuchen (German biscuits) and more!

If you prefer singing to sausages, don't fear!

There will also be live music on display with Cork Academy of Music performing on Sunday 10 December at 2pm and Voiceworks Cork on Sunday 17 December.

There will be fun for all the family, with face painting for the kids as well as lots of cosy seating areas for those who prefer to sit, relax and drink in the atmosphere (a few mulled wines might help!).

Finally, for all the kiddies who have been on their best behaviour, Santa will also be making a visit to spread some festive cheer on proceedings.

Entry to the market is free but donations greatly appreciated for the event’s charity partners Marymount Hospice and The Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind.

The market takes place on the weekends of 9/10 and 16/17 December from 1-8pm.
