Pinks, greens, purples, blues, oranges and of course every shade of black will play a huge part in this season’s make-up trends with a huge diversity of new products hitting the shelves over the coming weeks. In fact while in recent seasons we have seen quite similar beauty trends on the catwalks, the models which took centre stage at the autumn/winter 08 shows were united only by the fact that there make-up was very, very different with trends to suit all tastes and fancies featuring amongst the different designers.

For example, Shiseido’s autumn/winter collection is dominated by fantastic rose and green shades for the eyes, soft pearl shades for the cheeks and fabulously fruity colours for the lips while over at Estee Lauder,  the beauty story is all about caramels, truffles and chocolates with a collection that looks good enough to eat. Meanwhile at MAC, their latest collection for autumn/winter 08 is simply exploding with colour with copper, blue, red and purple eyeshadows all featuring in their new palettes as well as stunning cherry toned lip colours.

Beauty savvy girls in Cork who want to find out about the trends for themselves should definitely take a trip into Brown Thomas over the coming weeks where the store will be hosting “Beauty Masters’ their catwalk & beauty guide to the season .

From September 18 to October 5, the store will host a wide range of the top beauty artists in store who will be advising customers about the upcoming trends and the best colours to suit their needs.

International Make Up Artist Fred Letailleur, will be at the Giorgio Armani cosmetics counter on September 17 and 18, Laura Mercier’s top artists will be at their counter on September 25 and 26, Dior and Bobbi Brown will host their top visiting artists on September 26, and Derrick Carberry will be at the Elizabeth Arden counter on September 27 and 26.
