Step aside Sex and the City girls because Cork girls are about to beat ye in the style stakes with this seasons new range of shoes from Luca on Princess Street.

The Spring/ Summer 2008 collection features an exclusive range of designers. Well known labels such as Pedro Garcia and Pura Lopez dominate the new collection, as well as more exclusive labels like L’Autre Chose and Jamie Mascaro.

The collection by designer L’Autre Chose, which translates ‘the other thing’ is bound to be popular as it features an array of different styles of the classic ‘wedge’ shoe which is set to be another big hit this season. The ‘wedge’ (from €130-€250) is celebrated in the form of the classic espadrilles in rope and canvas, as well as the more sophisticated shoes recalling the shorter platform from the forties.

L’Autre Chose has a different approach to the world of footwear. The collection is extremely feminine and intends to make wearers feel like sixties-seventies icons, or ladies on the beaches of St. Tropez and Capri, but also pays attention to the functional aspect of a shoe. The wedge is a classic example of this since it cuts out that aching feeling at the balls of  the feet we all endure at the end of a night out.

‘Pretty Ballerinas’ from Jamie Mascaro  (from €105-€110) , firm favourites of Lindsay Lohan and Claudia Schiffer, also feature in  the Spring/Summer collection so Cork ladies can now follow suit with thanks to Luca.
