All dutiful wedding guests will know that there a few simple rules one cannot break when invited to your friend's/cousin's/collegue's wedding. The first rule for any wedding guest to keep in mind is thou shalt not, under any circumstances whatsoever, wear a white dress. Remember no matter how good it looks, what a bargain it was or how much you love it, wearing a dress which makes guests question who the bride is, is not ok. The second thing to keep in mind is that weddings are not the right place to showcase that gorgeous but very tiny sequin number you picked up in the sales. Again, if you know the dress will lead to lots of gasps rather than oohs and ahhs, its a no go. This doesn't mean that you should be putting on your quaintest frock, or opting for a black plastic bag for that big wedding but means you should consider looking for a classic dress which oozes understated elegance. Coast, Karen Millen and Monsoon all stock a wide range of beautiful dresswear which should suit your style and your budget. If a day of shopping seems all too much then you should definitely take a look at the new Littlewoods catalogue which features a diverse range of dresses from the top labels such as Love Label, Oasis, Amanda Wakely and South. |
