Star dance choreographer to visit Firkin Crane

Thursday, 23rd November, 2017 9:17am

Dance choreography giant Nacera Belaza will visit Cork this weekend for her first ever Irish production.
The French-Algerian choreographer will perform at the Firkin Crane on Saturday 25 November with two works entitled ‘L’infime’ and ‘Création 2018: première impression’.

Nacera Belaza received the prestigious French Chevalier de l’Ordre des Arts et Lettres in 2015 in recognition of her contributions to the art-form. She has performed at renowned arts festivals such as the Festival d’Avignon, Montpelier Danse, and Sadlers Wells. Her company was recognised as a French Ministry of Culture ‘national company with international reach’ this year.

Belaza will collaborate with Irish dancers for the first time, pairing with Ríonach Ní Néill of Corp_Real/Galway Dance Days and Irish Modern Dance Theatre for Saturday’s performance.

Tickets for ‘L’infime’ and ‘Création 2018: première impression’ at 8pm on Saturday 25 November are available from firkincrane.ie.
