A Quality makeover

Wednesday, 27th February, 2019 3:26pm

The quality of Youghal has just stepped up a notch. The Quality Hotel has recently undergone its most ambitious renovation programme ever.

General Manager Allen McEnery explained: “We have totally refurbished and upgraded an entire self-catering apartment block. This wasn’t just giving the rooms a fresh lick of paint. The kitchen/living-room areas have been completely renovated, with new tiled flooring, furniture and kitchen fittings and with brand new equipment throughout.

“The bathrooms were completely redone with ‘top of the market’ fixtures and tiling and the bedrooms have also been refurbished with smart new carpets. So, this means that we now have three tiers of apartments on offer – standard, seaview and superior.”

The upgrades are part of a long-term plan, but the enhancements didn’t just stop there.

Mr McEnery noted that “the locker rooms in our Club V Leisure Centre have been entirely redone and are now of the highest standard that you will find anywhere in Ireland. We also gave the restrooms in the Coast Bar a complete makeover.

“And speaking about our food and beverage service, Executive Chef Kieran O’Shaughnessy has developed quite a local following and it is not just for special occasions such as birthdays or first communions. There is a steady flow of people coming out from Youghal, enjoying our wide selection of great locally sourced food, Sunday carvery lunch and our stunning sea views!”

There are lots of exciting happenings taking place around Youghal this year and The Quality Hotel will be pulling out all the stops to facilitate Ironman Ireland Cork, which will be taking place in June while new festivals, such as the Songbird Festival, will bring an expanding number of visitors to the town.
