Cork is set to play host to a comprehensive two-day theatre workshop with a number of the most highly regarded masters set to attend the special event.

The Corcadorca symposium, 'Is This Theatre? An exploration of theatre in non-theatre venues', takes place between Friday, April 25 and Saturday, April 26 and will feature a series of acting, movement and voice workshops in addition to a final open forum.

Professional, site-specific and venue based theatre practitioners, both nationally and internationally, have been invited to participate, with theatre companies from the UK, Germany, Poland and the Netherlands already signed up for the two-day event. The weekend will provide a rare opportunity to work with, and learn from, some of the world leaders in site-specific and outdoor theatre.

Germany's PAN.OPTIKUM will join the UK's Punchdrunk, Poland's Teatr Biuro Podrozy and Compagnie Dakar from the Netherlands. The theatre companies are are renowned for their forward thinking methods and willingness to take performance outside of the confines of the traditional theatre, much like Cork's own Corcadorca.

Numbers for the workshops are limited to 20 per session and cost €60 per workshop. Prior booking is essential.
