Cork's newest cult hero and veritable ladies man Breffny Morgan will make his long- awaited return to the real capital next week. The Breffmeister will come back to Cork for a special appearance as guest DJ at Club Classic and his legion of fans will no doubt throng the nightclub to pay homage to the undoubted star of the 'Apprentice' TV show.

Speaking to the Cork Independent, Breffny said he is eagerly awaiting his return to the Rebel county and reacquainting himself with the Leeside lassies: "I can't wait to come back to Cork. Wednesday in Club Classic will be wedged.

"I need to detox from those Dublin girls, they were wrecking my head. I definitely couldn't make it as Breff O'Carroll Kelly," he joked, in reference to Ross O'Carroll Kelly, the fictional self-obsessed, D4 rugby 'hero'.

FIRED

Last Monday night Breffny was booted off Bill Cullen's Apprentice Show to the dismay of his army of supporters and his 25,000 (and growing) fans on Facebook, but it was somewhat of a relief for the Douglas native: "The show actually finished in July, so it was a great weight off my shoulders and I could finally talk about it. At the time I was very upset but I just had to forget about it," he said.

Having been fired from the show he wasn't able to say goodbye to his housemates, something that grated with him: "It's like getting kicked out of a fraternity in the US, you reside with your colleagues, so they are your family. I was then barred from the nightclub that was camp apprentice," he quipped.

The man you see on TV screens is the same man in real life and when you talk to him you quickly get the picture of an affable, humorous guy with his awkward social graces and razor sharp turn of phrase.

LEESIDE LOVE

He doesn't hide his love for Cork and speaks of his fondest memories of Leeside: "Absence really makes the heart grow fonder, being an athlete I used to do a lot of running around the hills of Shanakiel and Montenotte. The hills in Cork are an undervalued resource and it's amazing out there. I mean, if you look at Patrick's Hill you wouldn't get it anywhere."
