A Cork company has been short listed in two categories at the upcoming National Small Business Awards 2008. Clinical Conduct Associates Ltd were named among the six finalists in both the 'Innovator of the Year' category and the 'Outstanding Small Business' category. The Tivoli based business, who carry out clinical trials throughout Ireland and the EU on behalf of international pharmaceutical companies, say they aim to provide quick and easy access to medications for terminally ill patients and patients suffering from a range of ailments. The company has grown immeasurably in the last two years. The innovative trial management process at CCA and its increasing profile in the arena of Clinical trials worldwide has seen a sharp rise in the number of potential clients looking at Ireland as a destination to carry out their clinical trails. Two fellow Cork companies, Corporate Care Relocation ('Outstanding Small Business') and Seftec ('Manufacturing Award') have also been nominated. The prizes for the six category winners include €5,000 cash, one year's free membership of the Small Firms Association and enhanced PR profile through a press interview to be featured in a special supplement in the Irish Independent and a radio interview on Newstalk's 'Down to Business Show'. From amongst the finalists an Overall Winner will also be chosen, who will win an additional €10,000 cash prize, sponsored by Bank of Ireland Business Banking and O2 Ireland, and lifetime SFA membership. "This year has seen a 30% increase in entries and our finalists are well represented across the island of Ireland, supporting the claim that small business in Ireland continues to thrive in the current economic climate. This awards programme will applaud the innovation of these entrepreneurs, highlight their ability to be flexible in changing markets, recognise their commitment to creating employment and reward their contribution to our overall economy," said Pat Crotty, SFA Chairman and Chair of the Awards Judging Panel. The presentation of the Awards will take place at a Gala Banquet Dinner to be held in the Mansion House, Dublin, on Wednesday, March 12 by the Patron of the Awards, An Taoiseach, Bertie Ahern, TD. |
