Final preparations are underway for this year's ACCBank Cork Week which will take place at the Royal Yacht Club in Crosshaven from July 12 to July 18.

The event has gained huge popularity both locally and internationally since its inception and its expected that thousands of people will travel to Cork to take part in the major sailing event and to enjoy the entertainment line-up at the yacht club for the event.

This year there will be six different race courses and more than 20 classes competing at the event. The Regatta Committee have also just announced that they now have 10 Farr 45`s entered in the event. They will be giving these a separate start, level rating, after Class 0 and will amend the SI`s in due course to reflect this change.

Over the course of the week a number of charity events will take place at the RCYC including the Royal Cork Yacht Club 2008 Ball in aid of the RNLI which takes place a family fun day in aid of the Children's Leukaemia Association, an Opera 2005 recital, a summer luncheon with Cully & Scully and a ladies Prêt-à-Portea Afternoon Tea.

As always, evening entertainment at the event will also play a huge part at the event with headline acts including Revenge, Aslan, The Walls, Bagatelle, Paddy Casey, J-90 and Bluemoose all set to play over the course of the week.
