Fota Wildlife Park introduced four healthy cheetah cubs to the Park yesterday (Wednesday). The cheetah is one of the world's most endangered species, so the birth of these four cubs, on April 4, marked Fota Wildlife Park's on-going contribution to the global Cheetah Conservation Programme.

The cheetah cubs weighed in at approximately one and a half pounds each at birth and are thriving. The cub's mother came to Fota Wildlife Park from The Netherlands in 1999. She has now given birth to 22 cubs in six litters.

Their father was born at Fota in 1997 but this is the first time he has sired cubs.Speaking at Fota Wildlife Park today, Operations Manager, Mr. Tony O'Dwyer said, "We are delighted to introduce our four new cubs to the public. They are starting to come out of the cubbing den now and into the outdoor area. They are so playful and an absolute joy to watch".
