More than 150 holidaymakers whose flight was seriously delayed en-route from Spain to Cork Airport finally made it back to Ireland after a 24-hour ordeal.
The 156 passengers were returning to Cork with Budget Travel from Spain when the flight back faced an initial delay of eight hours. After finally taking off the plane was then diverted to Paris following technical problems after the takeoff.

The plan was forced to make an emergency landing in the French capital after which the passengers were then forced to spend the night in Paris before returning to Cork the following morning. Most of the holidaymakers had been in Salou with Budget Travel and eventual got back to Cork a full 24 hours later than schedule.

Passengers also complained of a lack of information while they were waiting and poor provision of food and drinks.

A spokesperson for Budget Travel apologised for the delays and stated that passenger safety was their priority at all times. Budget said that the delays were caused by safety issues and these had to be their top concern.
