Management at Beamish and Crawford have quashed media speculation that the company is to make redundancies at its Cork plant. Speaking to the Cork Independent, Managing Director of Beamish and Crawford Alf Smiddy said that there will be absolutely no job losses or redundancies at the company and that business at B&C is busier then ever. He said that the confusion may have arose after staff were issued with a number of circulars in recent days regarding voluntary redundancies, job-sharing and career breaks. However, he stressed that these circulars were regularly issued to staff by Human Resources and that workers would have received the similar circulars in previous years. "It's simple, there are no job losses and no redundancies at the company. Beamish and Crawford is working flat out in preparation for the Christmas trade. Business has never been busier," he said. Continuing Mr Smiddy highlighted that Beamish and Crawford is very proactive when it comes to looking after its staff and said the company could be considered as being among the best in its class. "We regularly put out circulars relating to our policies and could be considered the best in our class regarding job flexibility, career breaks and voluntary redundancy packages," he said. |
