Billy Kelleher is a Fianna Fáil TD for the Cork North Central constituency and is also the Minister of State with responsibility for Labour Affairs.

He was appointed as a senator back in 1993 and was elected to the Dáil for the first time in 1997. He has since been re-elected in 2002 and 2007 when he topped the poll.


How long have you been driving?
I’ve been driving for 23 years.

What was your first car?
My first car was an Opel Kadet.

What do you drive today?
Today I drive a 5 series BMW.

How often do you change your car?
I change it every four or five years.

Where is your favourite place to drive?
My favourite place to drive has to be West Cork.

What’s the best car you ever drove?
The Opel Kadet – for the memories!

What’s your dream car?
I don’t dream about cars.

What’s on your CD player?
Meatloaf.

What’s the worst thing about driving in Cork?
The amount of traffic lights.

What’s the best thing about driving in Cork?
The improving road network.
