Witness appeal after Clon attack

A man was left in critical condition following an assault outside a pub in West Cork.

Gardaí investigating the assault said that they are now looking for witnesses to the incident, which occurred on Saturday 11 March shortly before 12.30am.

The assault happened on Pearse Street in Clonakilty town.

A spokesperson for An Garda Síochána described the man’s injuries as serious and that he was in a critical condition in hospital.

The spokesperson said: “A man, 30 years, suffered serious injuries during the incident and was taken to CUH where his condition is described as critical.”

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information is asked to contact them at Clonakilty Garda Station on 023-8821570, The Garda Confidential Line, 1800-666111 or any Garda station.
