Thursday, 14th September, 2017 8:45am

A number of jobs will be created in the city centre as Regatta Great Outdoors has announced it will open its second store on Leeside next week.

The outdoor apparel company will open its new store on Oliver Plunkett Street on Friday 22 September creating several new jobs.

Brian Fox, Regatta Ireland Director, said: “Cork is a very strong market for us, it’s the retail capital of the south with a vibrant, active lifestyle, and has long enjoyed a reputation for sporting excellence making it the natural choice for another Regatta store.”

To celebrate the opening Olympic walker Rob Heffernan will be meeting customers while the first 100 shoppers through the door at 11am on Friday 22 September will receive a free Regatta fleece.
