Hit and run appeal

A teenage girl was struck by a car in Cobh this week.

Gardaí are seeking the public's assistance following the road traffic collision in which the 15 year old girl was struck by a vehicle which then failed to stop and remain at the scene.

The incident occurred at the top of Laundry Hill in Cobh at about 8.40pm on Tuesday 17 October.

The girl was taken to CUH and treated for non life threatening facial injuries.

The car involved was described as dark coloured and is believed to have gone in the direction of Newtown, Cobh.
