Man dies after fatal Belgooly crash

A man died last night following a crash on the R600 between Riverstick and Belgooly. The road remains closed this morning, with diversions in place.

The man in his 70s died following a collision between a car and a bus last night at 9.55pm.

The man who died was the driver of the car, and was the sole occupant of the car. He was pronounced dead at the scene. No injuries were reported from occupants of the bus.

Remains of the deceased were removed to Cork University Hospital where a post mortem examination will take place.

The road between Coolcorran, Riverstick and Lybe, Belgooly remains closed to allow for a collision forensic examination of the area.
