Friday, 5th January, 2018 10:11am

An incident in Passage West this morning is, at the moment, being treated as an accident by gardaí.
An elderly man was found with head injuries on the side of the road on Cork Street in the port town.
A passing motorist raised the alarm after they came upon the man at about 2.30am this morning.
Emergency services arrived and the injured man was taken to CUH.
Gardaí closed off the road and cordoned off the scene for a technical examination.
A spokesperson for An Garda Siochána told the Cork Independent that the incident is being “treating as an accident at the moment” and that there was no further updates available.
Gardaí are said to be gathering CCTV footage of the area to see if this can inform them of what happened to the man.
