€9k for Mary-mount

The Lady Mayoress, Georgina Fitzgerald recently handed over a cheque to Marymount Hospice following her coffee morning in aid of the charity.

The coffee morning took place at the Concert Hall at Cork City Hall last September and the Lady Mayoress handed her over the cheque to Marymount in recent days.

The Lady Mayoress thanked the people of Cork for their support of her recent coffee morning which raised €9,183.66.

She said: “I would like to pay tribute to all the volunteers, schools, entertainers, catering support, Griffins Garden Centre and staff of City Hall who made the day so special.

“We all appreciate the work and care of all the staff at Marymount. From family experience and from my visits there as Lady Mayoress, I see the wonderful service they provide to families in their time of need; they deserve every praise and support,” she concluded.
