Shall we dance?

Wednesday, 10th January, 2018 5:10pm

Dancers young and old will take to the floor later this month for the Lord Mayor’s Tea Dance.

Hosted by Lord Mayor Cllr Tony Fitzgerald, guests from all over Cork and beyond will dance to the ‘Savoy Hotel’ style music of Evelyn Grant and the Cork Pops Orchestra on 28 January from 3-6pm in City Hall.

The occasion will feature afternoon tea and a ‘Cinderella’ prize for one lucky lady, who will receive a hair and makeup prize, lunch for two and a limo to the ball. To win the Cinderella prize the ticket purchaser must enter their name and number in the shoe box in The Cobbler opposite the GPO on Oliver Plunkett Street.

The Cork Pops Orchestra will be joined by special guest Keith Hanley while Viva Dance studio, under the direction of Rona Coulter, will give a ballroom dancing demonstration. Cork Swing Dancers will also give a special exhibition dance.

Additionally, there will be a raffle with proceeds going to CUH Charity.

The Lord Mayor’s Tea Dance is a not-for-profit initiative organised by a local committee of people from various sectors and is chaired by Dr Andrew Crosbie. Tickets are €10 and are available from Pro Musica on Oliver Plunkett Street.
