Wednesday, 13th June, 2018 4:06pm

Dublin-based Junk Ensemble will present Man at the Door (Number 54) at Sunbeam Bingo Hall in Blackpool over six afternoons: from Friday-Sunday (15-17 June) and again from Friday to Sunday (22-24 June) at 3pm. The Cork City Dancers in Residence at Firkin Crane, Junk Ensemble have been artists in residence at The Tate and their work has toured across Europe and in New York.

Junk Ensemble was founded by twin sisters and Artistic Directors Megan Kennedy and Jessica Kennedy in 2004.

The Man at the Door features dancers and musicians from FC/DC Boys Dance Club in Firkin Crane. It dramatises a scenario in which a person’s doppelgänger knocks at the door.

The Power of Frau, featuring Cathy Walsh and Maria Svensson, will also run as part of the Festival, with three shows at the Firkin Crane: 4pm, 6pm, and 8pm on Wednesday 20 June.

Audiences can catch Rite of Spring by Eriu Dance Company at 2pm and 7pm on Friday 22 June. This work-in-progress interpretation of Stravinsky’s ballet and orchestral is a dance show exploring mob mentality and toxic masculinity, created by former Riverdance principal dancer Breandán de Gallaí.
