Here we go again!

Wednesday, 11th July, 2018 5:08pm

A screening of the singalong film ‘Mamma Mia’ in aid of Enable Ireland will take place next week.

The romantic comedy film will be shown at the Omniplex in Mahon Point on Friday 20 July. Network Ireland Cork Branch has organised the event in conjunction with Enable Ireland. Funds raised will go towards the building of Enable’s state-of-the-art children’s centre in Curraheen.

Enable Ireland is a non-profit organisation that provides vital free services to children and adults with disabilities and their families in Ireland. The charity is building the new centre in order to provide a vast number of services to families, including feeding, assistive technology, spasticity and tone management, seating, an upper limb assessment clinic, Cork/Kerry orthopaedic clinic, hip and spinal surveillance, casting and GAIT analysis.

Refreshments will be provided by Nandos in their restaurant at 7pm before the screening takes place at 8pm. Spot prizes on the evening will include tickets for the PRO14 in Thomond Park for 2019, kindly sponsored by Bank of Ireland, dinner for two in Nandos, DITA sunglasses from Crowley Opticians and more.

Speaking about the upcoming event, Sinead O’Keeffe, Partnerships and Philanthropy Manager at Enable Ireland, said: “We’re always looking for new ways to fundraise, and we were delighted when Ciara Wilson of Network Cork approached us to organise this fantastic event.

“A lot of people have come together to make this happen and we’re very grateful for all the support we have received thus far. The funds raised will go directly towards the new children’s centre and we would encourage people to come and support the event as well as enjoying a feel-good, fun-filled evening.”

Ciara Wilson of Network Cork added: “Enable Ireland currently have a shortfall of €1.75 million to complete their state-of-the-art building in Curraheen, which is costing over €7 million in total. We all need to do our bit for a good cause, so make this your good deed for this summer. It really is a fantastic and fun way to support a charity and you can attend with friends for a girls’ night out, or with colleagues for a staff treat. We’re very grateful to all the staff and businesses in Mahon Point Shopping Centre who have supported this event and to all of our sponsors.”

Attendees should be over 13 years old. Tickets are €25 per person and can be bought on eventbrite or by emailing
