Woman in court over Macroom death

A woman is due in court today in connection with the fatal stabbing of a man in Macroom on Monday.

The woman in her 40s will appear at Macroom District Court this morning, charged with the fatal stabbing of Timmy Foley in the early hours of Monday morning.

Gardaí were called to the scene at a house at Dan Corkery Place in Macroom at approximately 1.50am on Monday, where they discovered Mr Foley, 44, deceased with suspected stab wounds.

Gardaí later arrested the woman on Monday afternoon in connection with the incident, and she was detained at Bandon Garda Station.

Gardaí are continuing to appeal for witnesses to contact the incident room at Macroom Garda Station on 026-20590, the Garda Confidential Telephone Line 1800-666111 or any garda station.
