Hell, they say has three gates, lust, anger and greed and you need look no further than the Aer Lingus departure gate to Birmingham at Cork Airport for the greed gate, especially on the weekend of April 5.

For it surely is hellish to ask anybody to pay in excess of €450 for a return flight from Cork to Birmingham and it is greed personified on the part of the national airline for ripping off the travelling public on the weekend of Heineken Cup Quarter Final. Aer Lingus, we mustn't forget, isn't just a green logo or aeroplanes flying around in the sky, it is made up of people, greedy people, a grasping chief executive and miserly accountants and marketing people who have together contrived this plan to fleece their customers.

If we, the customers take it lying down, then shame on us, but if we bombard them with our complaints then at least we're doing something about it. I could suggest jamming their switch-lines, but if you've every tried to speak to a real person, as opposed to an automated service at Aer Lingus then you'll know how pointless that exercise would be!!!. This stingy plan is mean spirited at a time when the National Airline should be getting behind the Munster team and supporters with cut price flights to Birmingham. You'd wonder why we have all of these watch dog's and all of these ombudsmen when greedy businesses are still allowed to rip people off regardless.

But I am a huge believer in people power and if we roar long enough and loud enough, you'd be surprised at how many u-turns we can bring about. If things weren't already bad enough for the poor beleaguered Munster supporter already, they're only being allocated 3,000 tickets for the Gloucester game in a stadium with a capacity of 13,000 and as everyone knows, Munster fans alone could fill that over twice!!. The scramble will be furious for tickets that will be like gold and as for the Aer Lingus seats; well you'll need a lot of gold in your pockets if you're to secure one of those.

A Munster supporter's lot is certainly not a happy one, not this coming April anyway!!! Success sometimes brings with it its own pitfalls.

Why isn't Amy Winehouse in Jail, Pete Doherty for that matter, along with Britney Spears and any other so-called "iconic" figure who has openly and brazenly flouted their loved affair with narcotics? Why for that matter are the actions of "superstars" used to sell newspapers and magazines, instead of being ignored and shunned for the sleazy, lowlife lifestyle that it is? It would make more sense if the newspapers and glossy magazines published a few before and after shots of the Hollywood and music greats, before and after they wrecked their lives from cocaine, heroin and crack. Seeing Winehouse smoking a crack pipe on bebo and then the Sun website was pathetic. She should be either locked in involuntary rehab or else banged up in jail for the criminal that she is.
