Anyone who actively engages in drugs is a lawbreaker and should be jailed, without parole, without time off for good behaviour and any other such nonsense. Jail them, right down to the weekend cocaine sniffer and if there are not enough jail cells then build more prisons. Lets put an end to the "oh isn't it so sad, he must be sick", or the "ah sure gawd love us she had everything to live" silliness. If someone dies of a cocaine overdose or from bad coke or heroin why should it be seen as them being the victim of a tragedy? That demeans true tragedy. A tragedy is something entirely different, like loosing a child to a Leukaemia, a loved one to a drunk driver, a parent or wife to cancer at 40. It is of little consequence to me if a drug user dies from their habit. Much like a joy-rider in a crash or a criminal falling from a skylight or a bomber blown-up by his own explosive. Its sad for them, their family and friends, it's a wasted life I know, but to have so-called public figure glorified for their drug addiction is just a little too pathetic for me. Finally chefs hats off to five brave lads who have done it all for true love. Five Corkmen travelled with me to Killarney last weekend for a one day Valentines cookery course, in an effort to learn the culinary skills needed to create the perfect Valentines meal for their loved one. We were guests of justcooking.ie who do a range of cookery courses down west. Colin, Keith, Gearoid, Michael and Malcolm went down with little enough in their food larder and now are ready to tackle Beef Wellington, Scallops, Crab, Salmon, fresh tomato and basil soup not to mention chocolate fondant!. Don't know what Colin is going to do though, he only eats Frosties and his girlfriend is vegetarian! |
