Castle Heights in Carrigaine is situated on an elevated site just outside the town, on the Kilmoney Road that leads to Kinsale through Ballyfeard. It is an impressive estate. The houses, of which there are quite a few types, have a distinct architectral design with an emphasis on a high level of finishing, which can be seen, for instance, in the limestone architraves surrounding the front doors and the different rendering between ground and upper floors in some of the houses. It is also a very private estate, helped greatly by the high perimeter wall that runs along the main road. And although it is no more than a few years old, well thought-out landscaping and planting have already given it a feeling of maturity. “Castle Heights has proved to very successful with a wide range of buyers,” says Keith Murphy of Sherry FizGerald O’Donovan Daly, joint selling agents with Irish and European, “for the simple reason that there is a variety of houses in the estate suiting all different needs, and byers could see there was definite value for money to be had. “Added to that is the fact that the estate is witin walking distance of all the amenities of Carrigaline and just a short run to the city, while the countrside is aso right on the doorstep.”
Three of the existing showhouses will re-open next Sunday, with Keith Murphy in attendance from 2pm to 4pm. One house type that Keith Murphy believes will generate a lot of interest is the three-story townhouse which has a total flor area of 1,468 square feet and which he says is “excellent value per square foot.” Particular features of this house include a very well-fitted kitchen with a granite worktop, generous sized bedrooms with a good alowance for fitted wardrobes, and en-suites with power shower and booster pump. The driveway and footpaths around the house are fully paved and the rear garden is fully enclosed.
In a few weeks’ time, Castlelands will open a fourth showhome in the estate – for a four-bedroom, three-storey townhouse of 1,772 square feet, one of the most appealing features of which is the magnificently sized master bedroom on the second floor measuring 18’4” x 17’7” and which, in addition to this space, has a walk-in wardrobe and an en-suite. The floor below has the other three bedrooms, one of which is en-suite, and the main bathroom, while the ground floor comproses a hallway with a wc off, a living room and a kitchen/dining area with double doors to the back garden.
