Cork gets an opportunity to see the great Tony Bennett play when he appears at the Marquee this week. Although the singer is 83-years-old, he remains a vital and superb live artist.
The indefatigable Italian-American still performs over 100 shows a year, even at his age. When not singing, he paints and has exhibited on many occasions.

Despite being on stage acting or directing for most of his life, Twomey is still best known for his iconic portrayal of Miah and his fellow bar room philosopher Cha, played by his friend Frank Duggan. The pair are currently rehearsing their latest, according to Michael, "Frank Sinatra-like comeback".
"We will have a variety of people and characters on the new show and not just Cha and Miah," the polite and softly spoken Twomey explains.

Martha Wainwright
Indie-folk princess Martha Wainwright will be making her only Irish appearance this year at Murphys' presents Cork X Southwest. Since 2005 Martha has toured internationally many times over, sweeping up acclaim and awards wherever she went. She's made music with The Who's Pete Townshend, Damon Albarn's Africa Express, Antony Hegarty and the radio hit with Snow Patrol, 'Set The Fire To The Third Bar'.

A former gang member from one of LA's most notorious neighbourhoods, Snoop Dogg has served time for drug dealing, been acquitted of the murder of a gang member, and made a career as a rapper and film star.
His distinctive name came from fellow gang members because his hairstyle resembled the ears of Snoopy from the Peanuts cartoon strip.
