Recent research has shown that over 90 percent of seniors say their greatest fear is loss of independence, the main cause of which is losing their mobility. With Osteoporosis a key ingredient in most hip fractures, one of the most common injuries for seniors who slip or fall, it's a painful truth to hear that only 40 per cent of seniors who fracture their hip never regain their independence.

The weather outside may still be decidedly cold, but at the Brown Thomas Spring/Summer '10 preview last Wednesday, the atmosphere was anything but. Black-clad attendees in thick opaques and lace-detailed frocks offset with the occasional flash of a red sole enjoyed canapes and sipped champagne in eager anticipation of what the new season might bring, with hopes that the new picks would provide a sartorial thaw to this winter's past Big Freeze.

People with coeliac disease are unable to digest gluten, a type of protein found in certain grains.
