National Event Hire Neptune continued their recent good league form with another win over DCU Saints at the weekend. DCU Saints were intent from the tip off to stop the powerful Juwann James by double and treble teaming the player but credit must go to the other Neptune players when they stepped up to share the scoring.

Former Cork City captain Dan Murray has said he would have liked to finish his career at the Leeside club but he finally lost patience with the constant uncertainty there. The most successful captain in the history of the club has signed a two-year contract with Shamrock Rovers.

A massive project in underway to record the history of the GAA in Cork. Researchers are calling on GAA members from every club, parish and school in the county to contribute to The GAA Oral History Project, which is one of the biggest sporting history projects to be undertaken here. The project was commissioned by the GAA and is being carried out by a team based at Boston College-Ireland.

I travelled across Dublin last Saturday for the Irish Rugby International match with Italy. I hadn't been to a Rugby International match since the move from Lansdowne Road and I found the whole afternoon presented me with some rather interesting observations starting with the journey itself. Lansdowne Road is quite handy to the part of Dublin I have always lived in. Hence, I could always get the Good Lady to drop me but a few minutes walk from the stadium.
