Cork City's impressive unbeaten away record came to an end last Friday in Monaghan after a disappointing 1-0 loss to the league's second placed team.
Manager Tommy Dunne made two changes from last their 4-2 win over Mervue United the previous Tuesday, Graham Kavanagh replacing Stephen Mulcahy due to injury and Eoghan Lougheed stepping in for John Meade.

This weekend sees the 60th King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes, which will take place on Saturday as the centrepiece of an excellent day's flat racing at Ascot. This race has had a contrasting history since it was first run, and indeed it has seen the downfall of many horses who were odds-on to win it, only to fall by the wayside.

Brooklodge Taekwan-Do Club under chief instructor Amy Jane Troy and her father Alan were the latest recipients of the Fitzgerald Vienna Woods Hotel Glanmire and District Sports award for June.
Amy Jane who is a fourth degree black belt and Alan who is fifth degree black belt, accepted the award on behalf of the Taekwan-Do club.

Leevale's Ailis McSweeney became the fastest Irish woman in history in Belgium last week when she set a new Irish record in the 100 metres.
Her time of 11.40 seconds broke a 32-year-old record set by then 16-year-old Michelle Walsh in 1978, Ailis has also now qualified to compete in the European Championships in Barcelona, starting next week.

A spectacular welcome greeted the crew of Cork as they arrived first back in Hull at the end of the Clipper 09-10 Round the World Yacht Race on Monday.
Tens of thousands of people lined the banks of the Humber and the quayside of Hull Marina to welcome home the crews after a gruelling ten-month challenge that has seen them take on the world's largest and most formidable oceans.

Sports clubs throughout Cork city and county have been invited to apply for the twenty Texaco Sport stars Bursaries that will be presented to clubs throughout Ireland this year.
Launched in 2007 as part of celebrations to mark the 50th anniversary of the Texaco Sport stars Awards, the scheme is open to all clubs, irrespective of sporting discipline.

The draw with Derry City at the Brandywell in Cork City FORAS Co-Op's first ever game was a real fillip for players and supporters of the new club.
In fact, City were defeated just once in their first eight games but it may have just been masking some deficiencies in a squad that had been put together in a matter of days.

Cork City moved up to sixth place in the league thanks to a 4-2 win over MervueUnited on Tuesday night.
City camefrom behind to maintain their unbeaten away league record at Terryland Park.
Goalsfrom Graham Cummins and new signing Shane Barrett cancelled out Pat Huban'searly effort for Mervue, before Davin O'Neill and Cummins with his secondwrapped up the points in the second half.
