Although this seasons Munster Senior League Division 1 campaign is in its early stages the outcome of Saturdays big clash at Garryduff Sports Centre between Cork Church of Ireland and Cork Harlequins could play an important part in the destination of the title at the end of the season. A win for either side would give them a distinct advantage in a season which will see both clubs playing matches with out their international players who will be involved in Ireland’s preparation for the Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Auckland from the 2nd – 10th February 2007.

All international players, Cork Harlequins Jason Black and Mark Black and Cork Church of Irelands Karl Burns, Mark Ruddle and David Hobbs will be available for Saturdays match at Garryduff, hit off 3.00pm. It should prove to be an interesting contest between what are two very evenly matched sides. Last season both clubs had a win over each other in the league before Cork Church of Ireland won a play-off to end Cork Harlequins reign as champions. There is therefore a lot at stake on Saturday which should add to the occasion
